Born in Boulder, Colorado in 1965, Barret grew up surrounded by natural beauty, and at a young age felt a strong urge to capture that beauty in the form of two-dimensional art. Fully self-taught, he has never ceased striving to develop as an artist, and in recent years with a particular inclination toward narrative themes. Now residing in New York City, he splits his time between his work in the Motion Picture industry and art. His work has recently appeared in a number of nationally recognized art shows, winning honorable mention and sales  at Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, Washington.
